God has called Oasis Church to live out the great commission by embracing three principles that guide the decisions we make as a church.
Oasis Church is a church that is driven by #1 a Passion for God, # 2 a Passion for people and #3 a Passion for life.
Principle #1
Passion for God is our foundational value that expresses itself in the following ways:
1) Intimately connecting with God - We place value on encountering God through worship arts, including music, dance, drama and other artistic expression, not only about God, but to Him, in an environment that invites and welcomes His presence.
2) Relevant Teaching – We offer culturally relevant teaching that meets people where they are in their everyday life and leads them to Jesus.
3) Transformational Discipleship – We provide a place where people can train to be disciples and experience a real character transformation- there should be a difference in the way Christ-followers live. How we love others and in how our character guides our decisions in life. We provide opportunity for people to
build Christ-like character through discipleship programs and
small groups.
4) Impactful Evangelism – We believe evangelism goes beyond just
influencing people - it's reaching them for Christ and connecting them to a local church. We want to have a sustainable impact in people’s lives.
5. Global Missions – We believe the Great Commission includes providing a way for the Gospel to be spread throughout the world, including international missions, domestic missions and church planting. We are not here just for Oasis Church, but are here to provide support for church planting and missions – worldwide.
Principle #2
Passion for people is our relational value that incorporates the following:
1) Authentic Relationships – We are a place where people can find real
relationships that establish heartfelt community.
2) Attractively Diverse – We are a beautiful church that looks like heaven with every nation and race represented and that respects the role of both men and women in the church body.
3) Genuinely sincere and Friendly – We are real people with no masks, no undue formality and no pretense and are relaxed, comfortably friendly with one another.
4) Healthy Families – We believe in healthy families – that home should be a safe and nurturing place – thus we provide a ministries and teaching for the entire family – we are a place where families can be transformed into being all God intended them to be.
5) Outward Focused - Because "once you're focused inward it's over”, we are an outward focused church who desires to be involved and respected in our community and is a place where people can find help when they are in need.
Principle #3
Passion for life is our cultural value that embodies the following:
1) Identity in Christ – We believe we can only find freedom and live life abundantly when we discover and know who we are in Christ – children of the Most High God who walk according to His plan and purpose for our lives.
2) Life Giving Communication – We are a church that “speaks life” and believes the tongue holds the power of life and death – we choose to speak life and encouragement.
3) Passion-Based Service – We believe everyone is called by God with a unique purpose for their lives – everyone has a God-given passion and gifting that should guide them into their service in the local church, in their daily lives and in their community. Those who God calls He equips.
4) God-Centered Excellence: We desire to meet our group and individual potential in everything that we do - we endeavor to set a positive example in our community, to “leave it better than we found it” and to be determined to give our best to God every day.
5) Intentional and Full Living – We believe life is meant to be experienced to the full, that God expects us to have fun in and enjoy life, that each day must be lived intentionally, that we should live lives that are irresistible and attractive to the world – following the example of Jesus in our every day choices
